Membrane Keyboards
The interface between humans and machines
The membrane keypad is the central element for interaction between product and user, and thus responsible for the experience of your product.

Membrane keypads are tried and tested and at the same time as relevant as ever. The advantages are obvious: They can adapt to the shape of the product, they are barely noticeable, are light, durable, robust, scratch-resistant, splash-proof, chemical-resistant and hygienic.
Despite their minimal height, membrane keypads have an extremely complex structure. As a rule, they consist of several layers that function as a keypad in combination.

Membrane keypads are manufactured using screen printing or digital printing. These printing techniques offer flexibility and durability for a wide range of applications, from medical devices to industry.
Safety standards
Depending on the area of application, the membrane keypad requires special properties. Our membrane keypads are available in various IP protection classes, which define the degree of protection against external influences. The IP protection classes defined according to ISO 20653 and DIN EN 60529 are indicated by a combination of numbers and letters. The first digit indicates the degree of protection against the ingress of solid objects such as dust, while the second digit describes the degree of protection against the ingress of moisture.
First digit
0 – Unprotected
1 – Protected against solid foreign bodies > 50 mm
2 – Protected against solid foreign bodies > 12 mm
3 – Protected against solid foreign bodies > 2.5 mm
4 – Protected against solid foreign bodies > 1 mm
5 – Protected against dust
6 – Dust-tight
7 – /
8 – /
9 – /
Second digit
0 – Unprotected
1 – Protected against dripping water
2 – Protected against dripping water at a 15° angle of incidence
3 – Protected against spray water
4 – Protected against splash water
5 – Protected against jet water
6 – Protected against heavy seas, strong jet water
7 – Protected against temporary immersion
8 – Protected against permanent submersion
9 – Protected against water during high-pressure/steam jet cleaning
We don’t have B-goods, either the product is perfect, or it will be
sorted out and has to be produced again.
